Bio

Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Dr. Dale Williams completed his undergrad BScH at Acadia University in 1998 and his MD/BSc (Med) at Dalhousie Medical School in 2002. Dr. Williams came to Upper Canada for his orthopaedic residency training at McMaster University, obtaining his FRCSC in 2007. He completed fellowships in Trauma and Arthroplasty through the Hamilton Arthroplasty Group and at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, Australia with Prof Max Esser. Dr. Williams returned to Hamilton in 2009 taking a staff position at Hamilton Health Sciences specialising in Trauma and Lower Limb Arthroplasty working at the Hamilton General and Juravinski Hospitals.

Since returning, Dr. Williams has been an active participant in resident and medical student education, serving as site CTU Director and then Fellowship Program Director for MacOrtho. He also serves as a tutor to students in Medication Foundations at the DeGroote School of Medicine. Dr. Williams is involved in multiple trauma and arthroplasty studies looking at patient important outcomes after orthopaedic interventions. He serves on numerous hospital committees including the Blood Conservation committee and the Medical Staff Credentialing committee to attempt to maintain physician influence in hospital affairs and decisions. Dr. Williams’ professional goals are to continue to expand the complex revision arthroplasty care offered at the Juravinski and to establish a centre of excellence at the Hamilton General for the management of post traumatic deformities and osteomyelitis.

Dr. Williams is a patron of the arts with a dedication to supporting oil on canvas work. His passion for travel is currently on hold due to the recent birth of his second daughter. This has changed his personal interests to playing in sandboxes, going to the park and having tea parties.
