She is currently the Associate Program Director for the Orthopaedic Training Program, and Deputy Director for Research at the Centre for Evidence-Based Orthopaedics. Dr. Ghert has broad research interests ranging from Molecular Biology, to Medical Education, to Clinical Epidemiology and Clinical Trials. She considers her decision to work at McMaster to have been the most fortuitous decision of her career. Dr. Ghert believes that the collegial and supportive environment at MacOrtho allows faculty and residents alike to excel as surgeons, educators and academicians.
Dr. Ghert lives in Oakville with her husband and two young sons. She enjoys outdoor activities, in particular running and swimming. Other interests include reading historical documentaries on 20th century Europe and Tudor England. She hopes to write several books on these topics in retirement
