FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
The Division has approximately 2 clinical fellows at any one time. The breadth and depth of the surgical experience our clinical fellows receive reflects directly back on our Division by way of how successful our graduates are in their subsequent surgical careers.
THORACIC RESIDENCY & FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
The McMaster Thoracic Surgery Program accepts postgraduate trainees via two separate routes.
First, the program accepts 1 Canadian trained graduate into the Thoracic Surgery Residency Program, which is 2 years in length, and is accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. This is a funded position with payment consistent with standard Ontario Ministry of Health wages.
Second, we accept International Thoracic Surgery fellows for varying durations of time, typically from 1-2 years after completion of training abroad. These positions are sometimes funded internally or through the trainee’s home institution.
