A decade of research and advocacy for IPV at McMaster
One team of researchers at McMaster University is working to address this complex problem by focusing their efforts on injuries associated with intimate partner violence. They have developed a novel research program with the goal of improving the lives of abused women being treated at orthopaedic fracture clinics. The program is lead by Dr. Mohit Bhandari, a Professor of Surgery and Canada Research Chair., Dr. Sheila Sprague, a Researcher and Assistant professor of Surgery at McMaster University. The team is well supported by a collaborative network of surgeons, allied health care professionals, researchers, research coordinators, and students across McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences, as well as universities and fracture clinics across Canada, The United States, Europe, and India.
