City-wide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) guiding clinical research can be accessed either through McMaster University, HHS or SJH. These SOPs will assist you in the set up of both investigator-initiated or industry-sponsored studies, and will ensure, in the event of a research audit, you have the appropriate documentation available.

6.2 N2 SOPs
The SOPs are intended to provide a guideline for appropriate documentation of study process. This is especially useful to new research staff who may be setting up studies for the first time. Not every SOP or template will be applicable to your study, but a number of them are applicable across many types of studies, whether investigator- or industry-initiated. It is recommended that you download and complete all the appropriate SOPs and keep them in your study binder. As well, bookmark the link, for use when discussing study process with a sponsor, and for documentation during study audits.
